Why we started cooking on Fridays
Sodam started as dinner for friends. Every Friday Jin cooked a big pot of something from home — galbi-jjim, doenjang stew, a tray of japchae — and by Saturday the containers were all gone.
People kept asking if they could pay for it, so now we cook for more than friends. Same kitchen, same recipes, same Friday. We cook only what's been ordered, so nothing is left over and nothing is frozen for weeks.
If a dish reminds you of someone's kitchen back home, that's the whole idea.

Is it spicy?
Only the dishes marked spicy. Everything else is mild enough for kids.
How long does it keep?
Three days in the fridge. Stews freeze well for a month.
Do you use MSG?
No. The depth comes from anchovy-kelp stock we make every Friday.
